block number three...

Alright, as promised... here is Art Quilt block number three! I might say... this may be favorite block so far.
It turned out exactly... if not better than planned. I wanted a little pocket to tuck some quotes and tags into so, I found this vintage rose hankie at... (yes, you guessed it... my antique store) and decided to use it to make my pocket and I am so glad I bought some more other old hankies!
The heart is from Jillibean Soup and pink button is another fabulous find. The "love" ticket is from Maya Road... I lightly painted on both pieces.
This tag is tucked into the pocket... it focuses on family. I used a piece from the Love Mail Creative Scraps, a Girls' Paperie sticker and some rub ons from Melissa Frances.
The actual tag had ribbon wrapped around it that I had ordered from the internet... so pretty... I had to use it.

A lovely day to you!

  2. Hi Tammy, love your style as usual. Love these blocks. Just curious as to how you are backing these blocks? Are they fabric and do you sew them together or just place them together on a large background with glue? Never heard of these but definately inspired by yours to make one of my own. Can't wait to see more.

  3. {Swoon}!!!! Girlie, this is shabby-licious! Adore the treasure pocket, love the mixy-matchy fabrics, creative use of the cardboard -- just love everything about it! You're so talented and the perfect partner for this fun summer adventure :)

  6. For those of you asking.... my backing is just fabric and all the pieces are sewn together. Only the embellishments are glued on. I do not know how the edges of the tag were done... it came to me already looking that way.

Thank you for your lovely comments... I love reading them!!!
