vintage cd love...

I am popping in tonight to share a card made with some more beautiful papers from the Creating With Vintage Patterns CD (click on the highlighted title and it will link to where you can purchase the CD) from Crafty Secrets.
I am so addicted to this CD already... it has so many possibilities! Every image and design is just fabulous.
I have had this pink frame forever... I do not remember who it is by. I sanded it a little, used a snippet from the Mini Vintage Creative Scraps (has the most beautiful images). The sentiments are from Cupcake Party and Garden Girls stamp sets... also from Crafty Secrets.
The flower, lace and leaves are from Prima. Just to tell you how versatile this CD is... the papers are 12x 12 in size but, I resized mine to a 5x7 so I could get the whole image on the card. It is perfect for cards, scrapbook pages.... you name it!

Tomorrow I will have another card with a couple more favorites from the CD and hopefully another quilt block... not totally promising on that one!

good night...

favorite things...

I have the pleasure of Guest Designing once again in The Shabby Tea Room this week. The challenge theme this week is "My Favorite Things". As easy as this sounds... it was a little tough for me because I could not decide what to use. I have sooooo many favorite papers and embellishments.
So, I narrowed it down to this image downloaded from the internet... because it has my favorite colors and roses, an old song book page and the gingham paper from The Girls' Paperie for my favorite papers.
For my favorite embellishments... I used some Melissa Frances rub ons and the little lock, some lace from my stash, vintage seam binding, heart stick pin from Maya Road, a crocheted flower from Prima, and an old rhinestone and button.

And there you have it, a few of my favorite things.

Have a great summer evening!

Crafty Secrets Design Team Challenge "Childhood Theme"

Good morning everyone! Grab a cup of mojo and get ready to do some blog hopping, as Crafty Secrets is having a Design Team Challenge... and the theme is "Childhood". Let me tell you, this was such a fun challenge... so, here we go! First up is a little album... I took some glassine bags and some felt, sewed them together and added all kinds of sweet things from Crafty Secrets.
I will list all the products used at the bottom of the post... but, I have to tell you, I kept this album simple so you could focus on the beautiful papers from the new CD you can purchase here. Trust me when I say this... you are going to want to add this CD to your collection of vintage things.
and each side has a pocket where there are some journaling cards and plenty of room to add more memories.
Next, is a card using some more of the papers off of the CD...

block number three...

Alright, as promised... here is Art Quilt block number three! I might say... this may be favorite block so far.
It turned out exactly... if not better than planned. I wanted a little pocket to tuck some quotes and tags into so, I found this vintage rose hankie at... (yes, you guessed it... my antique store) and decided to use it to make my pocket and I am so glad I bought some more other old hankies!
The heart is from Jillibean Soup and pink button is another fabulous find. The "love" ticket is from Maya Road... I lightly painted on both pieces.
This tag is tucked into the pocket... it focuses on family. I used a piece from the Love Mail Creative Scraps, a Girls' Paperie sticker and some rub ons from Melissa Frances.
The actual tag had ribbon wrapped around it that I had ordered from the internet... so pretty... I had to use it.

A lovely day to you!

cute die & something revisited...

I know I am suppose to be bringing you a card and another Art Quilt block... but, yesterday I received a package from PTI and it had my little Onesie die in it and I just had to stop and play with it. The paper is the back side of the Baby Blessings Creative Scraps from Crafty Secrets and the sentiments are from these sets... Angel Blessings and Baby Girl from Clear Art Stamps.
The crown is from Melissa Frances and the lace is another lucky find at an antique store.

Next up is a little card featuring some more goodies from Crafty Secrets. By the way, I was fighting with my pictures today and could not figure out why they were lacking something... I just checked my aperture setting and way off! uuuggghhh!!! Oh well, I am sharing anyways : )

The image is from the Love Mail Creative Scraps from Crafty Secrets and the rose paper is from MadebyJanet.

Do you all remember this project..
If you do, you might remember it was one of my projects that I sent to Crafty Secrets for the DT submission... well, I also entered into the Moxie Fab World I am Sew Excited! Challenge and I am happy to say that it was selected as one of the five winners for this challenge!!! I have had a few people ask me what stamps I used... so here you go! Sew Special and Material Girl Clear Art Stamps as well as Sew Nice Creative Scraps from Crafty Secrets.

See you tomorrow with the Art Quilt block... it is done, I just didn't get the pictures taken before dark!

Blogger is so acting up tonight... I give up!!

the green flower...

Hello everyone : ) I am here today with my Shabby Tea Room inspiration. I am a whole three days earlier than usual... it seems to always get pushed to Sunday. This week's inspirational photo is one of my favorites... why you ask??? Well, because it has a cake, shabby little pillows, flowers, pink and greens!!
All we have to do is use pink, green, any neutral and flowers... mmmmm, love this challenge! Here is my card...
It uses Graphic 45 and October Afternoon papers,  a huge green flower from Prima, a die cut card from Melissa Frances, some velvet leaves (I stamped on them) from May Arts and the cameo button from The Girls' Paperie.

Have a lovely day...

quilt block #2...

This is Art Quilt block number two and it features the pretty pink button card I found on my adventure of antique shopping! I was really just wanting the pink buttons and then when I got them out to use I thought they looked lovely on the card and went perfectly with the colors in the quilt block.
It had this old price tag stuck on it... I peeled it off a little and liked the look of this. I love the blue against the pink : )
Made me a shabby little heart with some stitching and stuck the heart pin thru the button thread!
I found this adorable eyelet lace and a bunch of old sewing patterns on my excursion as well! Well, that is the fun little treasures I am sharing with you on this week's Art Quilt block.

Now, I will share with you a little pin cushion I made with a scrap piece of material left over from the quilt block...
I could not resist this sweet little tea cup on my shopping adventure... I didn't really just buy one... I bought the whole set!!! I have been making the quilt blocks and realized I needed a pin cushion. I remember seeing the tea cup pincushion idea several years ago... I adored them then and I adore them now. I used a scrap piece of material left over from my quilt block added some trim around the edge, a little vintage seam binding and a pearl button.
I hope you are enjoying your day... thank you for your visit today and I will be back tomorrow with some card love.
