wishing you a beautiful day...

Good Monday morning friends... today I am popping in with a card to share. I was playing around with some border punches and chose to use this one...
It is the heart scroll from Martha Stewart. Love the punch... just not sure if I like it as a border on the card. But, you know I love all the Crafty Secrets products! This card uses some paper from the Creating with Vintage Patterns CD and a little image from the Childhood Image & Journal Notes Booklet.
The little flowers in the corner are from the Vintage Postcard Kits - Family. I cut a piece of felt for the background and stamped it with some little pink flowers.
The sentiment I absolutely LOVE... I just received this set in the mail (thank you Sandy!) and I will use this set over and over. It is called Grand Greetings... I'm not sure if it is available yet. The "Grandma" sticker is from the Girls' Paperie. I thought since Grandparents' Day is coming up real soon, it would be a great little card for Grandma being it has the adorable little girl holding a "Happy Day" message.
So, tell me what you think... do you like the border on the card?

Have a beautiful day... I'm off to run a few errands and then I plan on playing with some new stamp sets and sharing more tomorrow!

Crafty Secrets Design Team Challenge "Fairies"

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope you are in the mood for some "fairy" themed projects... that is what the Crafty Secrets Design Team challenge is all about. So, here we go...
My first project can either be a wall hanging or sat on an easel to display... and I must say, my favorite project. I began with a circle chipboard piece, covered the front with the pretty green gingham patterned paper (all the papers used in my projects today are from the Creating with Vintage Patterns CD) and then made a border out of my favorite paper - the tiny rosebuds. This border took a lot of time to create but, I absolutely love the results and it was well worth it!
The canvas banner pieces are from Maya Road and then I took and stamped them with the banner image from the Artsy Banner Stamp Set they were a perfect match! The letter chipboards are from Jenni Bowlin and the little butterflies were punched out from paper from the CD.
The adorable fairy image is from the Love & Romance Vintage Cuts and the flowers and leaves are from Prima.
A close up of the border... and the little snippet in the bottom left corner of picture (Believe in yourself) is from the Mini Vintage Creative Scraps.
The next one is a card for you... it uses some more paper from the Creating with Vintage Patterns CD and an image from the Fairy Enchanting Heartwarming Vintage Card Stock Sticker Sheet.
I stamped the card with a sentiment from the Card Sentiments Stamp Set... aren't those little fairies so cute???
Lastly, I punched out some hearts from some green damask paper (from the CD) and sewed them down the middle.

Well, that is it for me... the other talented ladies from the Crafty Secrets Design Team have lots of "Fairy" inspiration awaiting for you... below are links to their blogs.

Love lives here...

Just a quick little hello and a card for you tonight...
This card makes me happy... the sentiment, the stitched heart, the vintage lace and the script paper - all my favorite things jammed onto one little card! I haven't hand stitched on anything in quite awhile... what was I thinking! I love hand stitched things! Using a chipboard heart, I just punched some holes to make the pattern and then stitched it up! It's that easy!
I bought a new border punch today... as if I needed another one but, this one has been calling my name for awhile now. It is called "Lace" from Fiskars.
The paper is from My Mind's Eye, image from Crafty Secrets the Love Mail Creative Scraps, some vintage lace, lace from Prima as well as the little pink resin flower and the little bird sitting on the nest is cut from the Mini Vintage Creative Scraps

I hope you enjoyed your visit...

Oh... some of you have asked how I get my bows so fluffy... well, I don't have a secret. The vintage seam binding just makes it easy because it is so soft. If you are referring to the post below, it is so fluffy because it is actually some seam tape and is a little heavier so you can form and control the bow a little more. Let me know if I can help with any other questions.

Something small...

Hello everyone! Today, I wanted to pop in with something small to share with you. I am sorry I have been away for awhile... wish I could say that I have been away on vacation somewhere but, I haven't. School starts here next week and I just wanted to take a week and get caught up on getting things in order and spending some time with the girls before they go off to school.
I received my box of the new My Mind's Eye goodies in the mail yesterday and I couldn't resist playing with them. I love the deep yellow, blue and black on this collection... and loooove that sewing machine image!
I cut out a piece of material from a Spellbinders die and attached it to the doily after stamping it with this sentiment (perfect for this paper!).
I then made me a little ruffle piece from some more fabric and added some pretty lace from Maya Road and a pin from Tim Holtz.
I have been working on some Crafty Secrets projects too... so, come back tomorrow (there will be another giveaway). Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Until tomorrow...

summer days...

I'm back tonight with a card to share with you. It is a record breaking heat wave here and with the excessive heat, all you want to do is stay inside where it is cool! With this card, I used some Melissa Frances paper and an image from Crafty Secrets Garden Creative Scraps.
The sentiment is from a rubber mounted stamp that I have had for awhile and the company's name is rubbed off... if you recognize who it is by let me know! The little circle letters on the banner are from My Mind's Eye and some lace from Prima. The doily is stained with Tim Holtz inks.
My Art Quilt has really taken a back seat so far this summer... I think I will head off to work on a block tonight.

Good night...
