things in life...

Happy Friday everyone! I am so glad it is Friday... been one crazy week and looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow!! Today, I am sharing a couple of things with you... first, is a pillow. Remember in my last post, I said I wanted to take up my embroidery again? Well, it's not embroidery but, it is needlework. I have had this cute little kit for awhile and decided to start with it.
The two things that I love about this kit is the sentiment... very true, it is not things that matter most but, family matter most to me. Without them, nothing else would matter. The other thing was the fabric... so shabby. I soaked the pillow form in a tea bath... you can't see it in the picture but, it turned out perfectly.
I added some vintage buttons, a flower cluster (Prima) and a little doily with some stick pins from Maya Road and now it will sit on my shelf in my craft room.

Next, is a card using more Crafty Secrets products... my favorite papers from the Creating With Vintage Patterns CD.
The adorable image is taken from the Girlfriends & Image Booklet and the little tag is from Beatriz Jennings' Etsy Shop. The sentiment stamped on it is from the Card Sentiments Stamp Set.
The script writing is from the Artsy Banner Stamp Set and the friend quote is the bottom portion of the image above.

Have a wonderful day!!!!

vintage white...

Week #80 - Tammy Roberts
Well, it has been a long time... far too long since I have played along in The Shabby Tea Room and tonight I bring you my card based on this photo...
and isn't it just gorgeous!! I picked a good time to play along. And here is my card...
I used the beautiful damask paper from My Mind's Eye... I have been using a lot of My Mind's Eye paper here lately but, it is all so addictive! The resin frame is from Melissa Frances with a felt rolled flower and a vintage button in it.
The "Always" card is also from Melissa Frances and the sentiment on the tag is from Crafty Secrets, the Vintage Postcard Kits ~ Family
I finished it off with some vintage lace, stitched a small heart and added a piece of flower from Prima. Oh, the bottom with the quote is an old vintage sheet from a book... perfect for this card!

Hope you get to play along...

a stitch in time...

Hello friends... hope all is well. Tonight I am sharing a card with you that has a stitching theme to it. Here lately I have had the itching to take up embroidery again. I used to embroidery a lot a few years ago... I put it down for awhile and that turned out to be for several years. I came across some beautiful patterns and my head is spinning with ideas that I hope to share with you in the next few days.
This card was made using some Crafty Secrets products... starting with some paper from the Creating With Vintage Patterns Cd and then adding the beautiful image from the Sew Nice Double Sided Creative Scraps.
The sentiment is from the Sew Special stamp set (Crafty Secrets). Other paper used is by My Mind's Eye. The stick pin is from Maya Road, flower cluster by Prima and an old vintage button.
I had actually punched some hearts out this paper to use on another project and thought it would be perfect to reuse for a pretty border... I added some vintage lace behind the paper.
That is it for tonight... enjoy your weekend and I will be back soon. I haven't been in the Shabby Tea Room for awhile now... think I will play along this weekend and work on those ideas spinning around in my head before I loose them.

Crafty Secrets Design Team Challenge "Retro"

Happy Monday morning to you... this month, the Crafty Secrets Design Team's challenge is "RETRO". Very easy I must say... I love this theme. I have a couple of cards for you... first one uses a "RETRO" themed image taken from the Homemade Image & Journal Notes Booklet.
The lovely blue damask paper is from the Creating With Vintage Patterns CD along with a sweet sentiment  from the Vintage Postcard Kit ~ Kitchen Mail... the little flowers beside the sentiment is from the Lacey Patterns Stamp Set.
The next card has a very "HAPPY RETRO" feel to it... I like the peachy pink with the black too. This image is from the Girlfriend Double Sided Creative Scraps along with some pretty pink paper from the Creating With Vintage Patterns CD.
I stamped the border at the bottom of the card using the Antique Trims Stamp Set... love the this one!
Okay, that is it for me... now, head on over to see what the rest of the Design Team ladies have waiting for you!

for you...

Tonight, I bring you a couple of cards for you to look at over the weekend. The first one is one of my most favorite digital images to date... from Iralamijashop. The collage sheet is called Beautiful Papers and oh my word... they are!!
The paper is from My Mind's Eye, other products used are Prima lace, vintage buttons and seam binding, sentiment from Papertrey Ink, doily and flowers.
The next card uses an image from the Mini Vintage Creative Scraps by Crafty Secrets.
The floral background is actually a package from Prima... it had flowers or something in it. I never throw them away because they are just too pretty.
Other products used are Prima flower, leaves and lace, doily, twine, a small piece of vintage lace, vintage button and the canvas sentiment I honestly don't remember (that is how long I have had it)!

So, I hope you liked your visit and enjoy your weekend!

mini album in full...

Ok, as promised... here is a look at the Halloween Mini Album inside and out. This class will be taught at Scrapbook Generation in October.
The album measures about a 4X7 and inside you will find four blank tags for you to journal on or add photos... they are in between each page. I will have some journaling lines stamps for you to choose from if you decide to go with journaling.
There are little tabs on each page that has a sentiment stamped on it.
It is kind of hard to tell in the photo but, each page is also a pocket that holds another tag like the one in between each page... again, to do journaling or add photos. You can tuck a lot of keepsakes in these pockets. That is why in the photo it looks like there is a glare or you can see thru the flap. All the machine stitching you see on each page will be done by me prior to class... so yes, you get the machine stitching too!!!!! You can skip down to the next post to read all the products used on the album. I did however, forget to mention that there is also some Papertrey Ink dies and stamps used too.

It's been a crazy week... I am working on some cards to share in the next day or two... until then, have a great rest of the week!

love is in the air...

Good Wednesday evening everyone! I'm sorry there are so many days in between my blog post's. I do not plan it this way... it just seems that life just stays busy! Anyway, I am here tonight with a couple of cards to share with you. They both use some Crafty Secrets goodness.
The image is from the Love Mail Creative Scraps... I added some glitter to here wings, the papers are from My Mind's Eye and from the Creating With Vintage Patterns CD.
The sentiment is from the new set that I told you about in a previous post, telling you I would be using this set over and over... Grand Greetings Stamp Set. The little butterflies are stamped with the Vintage Post Card Kits - Best Buds and then cut out.

The next card was a challenge for me... I think somehow I cannot make a card without using a bow of some sort... that it looks like something is missing if I don't. Well, I made myself try one without using any bow of any kind...
I'm not saying that I won't go back and add a bow... but, I think I can live with it. Papers are from the same companies as above, the sentiment is from the same Post Card Kit - Best Buds, chipboard frame by My Mind's Eye and the frame stamped behind the chipboard is from the new set Vintage Labels. All the frames in this particular set are beautiful and have lots and lots of possibilities.
The pretty felt flower is from Jolees', lace from Prima and the vintage rhinestone is from my stash... that ooooh sooo love (I bought every one of them)!
~~~EDITED~~~
I told you it might get a bow... could not stand it any longer! Aaaahhh... it is complete now.
So much better... don't you think?
I think that is it for me tonight... I hear dinner calling! Thanks for stopping by and hope to be back soon.
sweet sentiments...
Hello everyone! I'm here with a couple of cards to share with you tonight. The first one uses a sweet sentiment from Crafty Secrets.
You can find the stamp set called "Angel Blessings" here. The paper is from My Mind's Eye and I have used some cute little vintage buttons, vintage seam binding, a Melissa Frances keyhole and stitched a heart.
The border at the bottom of the card is also from Crafty secrets and is called "Antique Trims" and found here. The image is from Beatriz Jennings and can be found here along with some other sweet little images.
Next, is a card using some more Crafty Secrets goodies including a new stamp set... Take It Easy (the chair and sentiment), paper from the Creating With Vintage Patterns CD, Epoxy Stickers and Mini Vintage Creative Scraps.
The little frames around the images are a new stamp set coming soon (I think) called "Mini Frames". I stamped the frames and then cut them out... then added them on top of the epoxy stickers... looks just like a picture  hanging on the wall!
I hope you enjoyed your visit... I enjoyed sharing with you! Have a good night... be back soon!
