Kraft & Twine...

this is our theme chosen by Linda, our sweet host for the Frilly and Funkie blog challenge. This is what Linda has to say:

Challenge Theme:  Kraft & Twine:  Frilly or Funkie, from kraft card stock to recycled corrugated cardboard, let's see how creative you can be.  For this challenge, let's have some fun with kraft and twine.

I had so much fun with this challenge that I have two cards to share with you!
This card features some kraft cardstock, corrugated cardboard, Sizzix dies, Tim Holtz crackle paint, cute lace from Linda's Zibbet Boutique, background paper from Iralamija's Etsy shop, Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers, Melissa Frances resin flower piece and of course... twine.
I applied some crackle paint to the corrugated hearts and butterfly. I have not used this stuff in quite a while... I forgot how much I loved this stuff!
The next card, uses a sweet little image that you will also find in Linda's Boutique as well as the pretty lace.
I used some corrugated cardboard as the background for this card. It simply has some white and blue paint brushed on it here and there.
So, I hope you get to visit the Frilly and Funkie blog and join in on the fun challenge. There is a fabulous prize for the winner of the challenge!

Thank you for visiting my blog!

Sweet Thoughts...

I have some Sizzix inspiration for you today... a little tag of encouragement using the following dies, Tag & Bookplates Flowers, 3-D and Tiny Tabs & Tags. I have had the Tiny Tabs & Tags die for a while and man... I am so happy I brought that baby out! It has the cutest little tags and tabs!
I am going to give you a small tutorial as we go along, just in case you would like to make one for yourself. Die cut two tags using the Tag & Bookplates Die, one from Mat Board (or cardstock) and one from patterned paper. Using the Tiny Tabs & Tags Die, die cut the smaller circle and rounded tab from patterned paper. You will find that the rounded tab is missing in the photo below so, see the above photo for this one... sorry.
You can find the digital image HERE in Iralamija's Etsy shop. Trim the patterned paper tag just a bit (so you can see some edges of the main tag), machine stitch around the tag and digital image and then zig zag stitch about two inches from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the tag from patterned paper to the tag from the Mat Board. Adhere a piece of seam binding or ribbon across the top of tag (just below the hole in tag), tie a bow and adhere to the left corner of tag. Stamp sentiment in the circle tag and tie around bow with jute string. The sweet little sentiment can be found HERE from the ever so talented Stephanie Barnard.
Adhere a small piece of lace to the lower right corner of the digital image letting a little piece hang from the bottom edge (see photo). Adhere the rounded tab on top of the lace and machine stitch if desired. Adhere a button in center of tab.
Stamp the numbers from Tim Holtz Clear Stamps - Purely Random Set at the bottom of tag. Using the Flowers, 3-D, die cut from felt and assemble following the instructions on packaging. Adhere a pearl in center of flower, adhere leaves to back of flower and adhere the flower in center of the zig zag stitching.
Enjoy your tag and your day!

Color Me Pretty...

and that is exactly what speaks to me when I saw this gorgeous photo that I have chosen for our inspirational photo this week in The Shabby Tea Room.
Photo inspiration #116
The challenge is to create a card/project using white/cream, pink, blue with flowers and add a fabric element. Our wonderful sponsor this week is Just Rite Stamps.  I have used the Botanical Butterflies Clear Stamps  on this card.
Other supplies used, is a page from an old hymnal, the pretty floral fabric, My Mind's Eye paper, seam binding, Sizzix Fringed Flower Die and felt.
I stamped the image, stitched around it and then layered it on top of the fringed flower and tulle layer.
I could not stop at just one card for this challenge so, I have two for you this time around. For this card I used the Botanical Medallions & Banners Clear Stamps.
The winner of this challenge, will receive a wonderful prize package from JustRite Stamps...
Prize #116
So, go visit The Shabby Tea Room to see all the beautiful inspiration and jump in on the challenge! Be sure to check out what the other Designer's have created too...

Metal Embellishments...

Today, I have a couple things to share... one is for the Frilly and Funkie Blog. It is Friday Focus there and it is my turn to share a product with you. I have chosen metal embellishments. Linda has some lovely choices in her boutique that you can find HERE. I have used the Rusted Metal Embellishments and the Mega Metals Value Set.
Rusted Metal Embellishments - Stars, Bells, Hearts,Bottle Caps, Tags & Signs - 34 Piece Set
The Rusted Metal Embellishments are my favorite. I love the bottle caps, hearts, stars and oh my... the bells! I made a little pocket that you can fill with chocolate, a note, a gift card, etc.
I used a large heart and a bottle cap...they really need nothing done to them as they already have the rustic, shabby look to them already. All I did was add a little paint to the outer edges and adhered an image into the bottle cap with a pop dot.
From the Mega Metals Value Set, I used one of the square pieces... these are antique bronzed filligrees and I added a coat of Vintage White paint to them just to give them a little aged look.
Linda's prices are already great but, this Memorial Day weekend you can find everything on sale for an extra 10% off. Better grab yourself some of these metal embellishments and the other great products I used...you will find the links below!

Have a great weekend!

It's a Garden Party...

in The Shabby Tea Room this week! Our lovely host is Rebekah and she brings this shabby little inspiration photo...
She asks that we create a card/project using the colors in the photo adding a dimensional flower.
We have two sponsors this week, Bugaboo Stamps and Digital Paper Shop.

I have used the Romantic Day Digital Collage and Beautiful Blocks - Live Laugh Love, done a little machine stitching, added a piece of doily, seam binding, pearls, flower and a lace tidbit.
This is a great challenge theme with lots of goodies to be won... head on over to The Shabby Tea Room to see more info and check out what the other Designers have whipped up for you.
