Friendship jar...

Hi Friends! I have a tag to share with you today. It is made using the cutest little Jar die set... the new Thinlits. I will keep this die on my desk for a while because I see another project real soon... thinking Mother's Day favors.
To make the tag, I simply die cut the Tag from some corrugated cardboard. I then ran the tag back thru my machine using the Scallop Border die to create my scalloped edge. Die cut another scalloped edge from some old book paper and trim to fit the bottom of tag... make sure to match your holes before trimming. Adhere the book paper border to the bottom of the tag and lay a piece of lace over the top. I adhered a piece of washi tape (woodgrain from Glitz Designs) and then machine stitched with a zig zag stitch.
Using the Jar die, die cut the jar from patterned paper (mine is from My Mind's Eye). From the lid portion of the die, die cut two pieces of different paper. On one of them, trim out the little band piece and adhere to the full piece. I machine stitched down the sides of the jar and then adhered it to the tag with the bottom of the jar lining up with book paper. Cut a piece of jute string and adhere to the lid (along the cut lines). Now, adhere the lid portion matching up the precut lines. Stamp your sentiment on a small tag and thread onto the string. Tie into a bow and add a rhinestone in the middle of the bow.
Run the Jar die thru the machine once more using a different piece of coordinating paper, you will then trim the bottom piece out (the polka dot) and adhere to the bottom of the jar. Die cut a Butterfly from felt and adhere to the right side of jar. Adhere a resin embellishment (Melissa Frances) onto the butterfly. Add a mini clothespin to the top, adhere a flower to the top of the clothespin and you are done!

Enjoy!

Thanks for your visit today....

  1. This is precious, Tammy! I love the corrugate tag...so much texture. And the stitching is unexpected! I'm going to have to try that. The jar itself is all vintage goodness. What a lovely gift!
